The City of Chicago announced they will now be accepting applications for assistance in replacement of residential Lead Water Service Lines to Copper and we are on the list of contractors!
If your home or 2 flat was built BEFORE 1986, there is a high probability that you have a lead water service line running from the City main in the street into your home. These lines are responsible for transporting clean water into your homes.
There are currently 2 program options for homeowners assistance with replacement of the lead lines.
The first option is the E-LSLR, this options has some income requirements in order to qualify, the requirements to be eligible for this program can be found here, https://chicagowaterquality.org/LSLRPermit
The second option is the LSLR Owner-Initiated Program, this option provides assistance with permit fees which could amount to a savings of up to $3100.00. The homeowner is given the option to hire their own contractor.
